Stock Controller
Job Description:
Our client is seeking a Stock Controller who will be responsible for the control, administration, and supervision of all stock-related processes, including receiving, storage, inventory management, and dispatch. The successful candidate will ensure accuracy, compliance with company procedures, and efficient warehouse operations, including the supervision of warehouse staff and coordination with internal departments to maintain stock integrity and availability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Receiving and verifying stock against purchase orders and supplier documentation.
- Capturing and processing Goods Received Vouchers (GRVs) where required.
- Ensuring accurate labelling, barcode verification, and product identification.
- Managing returns to suppliers (RTS) and damaged stock processes.
- Investigating stock discrepancies and supporting stock adjustments.
- Participating in stock takes and resolving variances.
- Maintaining accurate stock records and bay locations.
- Overseeing daily loading and dispatch of delivery vehicles.
- Ensuring proper merchandising and stock presentation.
- Supervising warehouse staff and maintaining housekeeping standards.
- Ensuring compliance with all internal stock control procedures and systems.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and functional warehouse environment.
- Deliver effective service to internal departments and customers.
- Perform daily and weekly operational checks as required.
- Report discrepancies, damages, and operational issues to Management.
Requirements:
- Grade 12 (Matric) or equivalent qualification.
- Minimum 2–3 years' experience in stock control, warehouse operations, or inventory management.
- Working knowledge of inventory systems.
- Experience in GRV processing, stock receiving, and dispatch procedures.
- Strong numerical accuracy and attention to detail.
- Basic computer literacy (MS Excel, email, and stock systems).
- Ability to investigate and resolve stock discrepancies.
- Experience in supervising or coordinating warehouse staff.
- Good organizational and time management skills.
