Job Description:

The Farm Assistant Foreman supervises daily farm operations, manages labour, implements cattle and crop programs. Ensures farm implements and machinery maintenance, acting as the crucial link between management and workers. Responsibilities include directing planting/harvesting, overseeing livestock health, enforcing safety protocols, and training staff. They must possess strong cattle farming and crop management skills, leadership abilities, and should possess at least 5 years of experience in a similar of related field.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operational Management: Plan and execute daily farm tasks, including planting, harvesting, and livestock care (feeding, breeding, health monitoring).
  • Supervision: Assign tasks to labourers, manage schedules, and mentor staff and seasonal workers.
  • Maintenance: Oversee or perform repairs on farm equipment, machinery, fences, and buildings.
  • Safety & Compliance: Ensure compliance with safety regulations, environmental laws, and biosecurity protocols.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate logs of animal health, crop yields, and daily activities.

Experience:

  • 5 years in agricultural production or as a farm worker.
  • Technical Knowledge: Understanding management of cattle and crop programs. Proficiency in operating and repairing farm machinery (tractors, implements and tools).
  • Leadership: Ability to supervise farm workers, make independent decisions, and manage time efficiently.
  • Responsibility: Ability to work with a high degree of responsibility and accountability.
  • Communication: Strong interpersonal skills for coordinating with management and workers.
