Job Description:

Our client is seeking an autonomous, target-driven Sales Representative to expand our OEM equipment footprint. This role is designed for a high-performing sales professional with deep roots in the mining and construction sectors and strong technical knowledge of heavy machinery, Ground Engaging Tools (GET), and undercarriage systems.

Core Responsibilities

  • Drive Market Penetration: Take full ownership of the OEM product line, consistently meet or exceed sales and margin targets, and aggressively expand market share within the assigned territory.
  • Business Development: Conduct daily cold calling, prospecting, and field networking to hunt for new business opportunities and build a healthy sales pipeline.
  • Consultative Solutions: Meet with clients on-site to understand their specific business challenges, operational environments, and machinery requirements, providing expert advice on machine applications.
  • Deal Facilitation: Assist in developing custom proposals and quotations, facilitate client asset financing options through financial institutions, and support the collection of payments.
  • Delivery & Compliance: Personally inspect machinery prior to delivery and ensure all necessary warranty and tracking documentation is submitted accurately and on time.
  • Aftermarket Support: Collaborate closely with internal operations and aftermarket teams to guarantee seamless product delivery, onboarding, and ongoing service support.
  • CRM & Reporting: Maintain meticulous records of customer interactions, sales pipelines, and market intelligence within the CRM system, providing punctual reports to management.

Key Competencies & Skills

  • Technical Acumen: Robust technical understanding of earthmoving machines, mechanics, GET, and undercarriage components.
  • Commercial Negotiation: Sharp business and financial acumen, with the ability to confidently present and negotiate deals with middle and senior corporate management.
  • Autonomy & Time Management: Exceptionally self-reliant; proven ability to plan schedules, manage multiple opportunities simultaneously, and work productively without direct supervision.
  • Flexibility & Mobility: Professional personal presentation with a complete willingness to travel extensively to remote client sites and work flexible hours to meet business demands.
  • Communication & IT: Computer literate in MS Office packages with fluent communication skills in English, Afrikaans, or a local African language.

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Education: Minimum Grade 12 or equivalent qualification.
  • Experience: 3 to 5 years of proven sales success handling heavy machinery or related capital equipment.
  • Industry Focus: Direct experience dealing with corporate clients within the heavy construction and mining sectors.
  • Licensing: Possession of a valid driver's license is mandatory.
