Job Description:

Position: Chief Mate (Oil Survey Vessel)

A Chief Mate is the senior deck officer on a ship and second-in-command after the Captain/Master. The Chief Officer is responsible for cargo operations, deck crew management, vessel safety, stability, and maintenance of the ship.

• Survival Crafts & Rescue Boats – Other Than Fast Rescue Boat (A-VI/2)
• Fast Recue Boats (GO 3 & 7) (A-VI/2)
• Medical First Aid (A-VI/4-1)
• Medical Care (A-VI/4-2)
• GMDSS (A-IV/2)
• Radar - Observer (A-II/1)
• Radar – A.R.P.A. (A-II/2)
• Radar – A.R.P.A. – Bridge Teamwork (A-II/2)
• Ship Security Officer (A-VI/5)
• Bridge Resource Management – Operational Level (Ops. Level)
